See the attached CLEP schedule to make test appointments.
Register and pay at https://clep.collegeboard.org/ and bring the registration ticket and photo ID with you on the day of the test.
Time limit: CLEP tests have a 90 minute time limit.
Grading is automatic. Results will be printed for to you and sent to a school of your choice in approx 2 weeks.
Cost: CLEP testing is government-funded (free) for Active Duty military members. Veterans pay out of pocket but can be reimbursed by the VA. All others: $85, payable by credit card. Please register and pay BEFORE taking the test at https://clep.collegeboard.org/ Leave all electronic devices (phones, watches, etc) at home or car.
CLEP is pass/fail; results will not affect your GPA. You may retake the same CLEP after 90 days if you do not pass.
For CLEP study materials, students have three choices...two are free, the other has a nominal fee.
- If you want a quick test review, you can download the CLEP Official Study Guide, by clicking on the attached PDF files (free)
- If you need more of an in-depth course that will help you prepare for the test, I recommend Modern States at https://modernstates.org/ (free)
At this site, you will register and take an online prep course (most students need 4-6 weeks) which includes the textbook, study questions, and videos.
- InstantCert.com--an online interactive way of studying with “flashcards” (approx $20/month, save $5 off your first month with code # 100133)
