The library does not carry textbooks, although on occasion we have an older edition in the collection. Students may purchase textbooks through the online bookstore.

To see the books in our collection and the format they are in:

Go to the Library Catalog

At the catalog search screen, change to "ADVANCED SEARCH," type in your book title and/or author, do not fill in ISBN, then click “Search”

If we have your book it will come up in the results area. Click on the title to see the full record information including availability.

Electronic books can be read on your computer by clicking on the “Click Here to View” link that is found near the top of the record.

Print books that are available for check out will be listed as in the “Circulating Stacks.”

If you find a print book in the catalog you may come to the library and pick it up or request that we hold it for you to come in and pick up (if you live in the San Diego area).  For those outside of San Diego you may request that we send it to your nearest learning center for pick up.

Both the hold and shipping request are done by filling out the “Request Delivery” (Books Direct) form found under the picture of the book cover on the full item record.    (Special Note:  The Circulation Staff will check the availability of titles, prior to the patron's visit to the Library.)

For additional information on searching for books consult the "Find Books" tab on the Resources for Students  guide or the research guide for your subject area.
