Academic Writer: Document open in multiple locations error message.

Answer

Academic Writer is aware of users incorrectly receiving an error message incorrectly telling the user that they have multiple instances open when they do not. When the user receives this message, then they can verify that no other instance is overwriting their paper by doing the following:

  1. Export the document or copy and paste the text into a Word document.
  2. Add body text and save it.
  3. Navigate to My Papers.
  4. Wait for two minutes and then go back into the paper.

If the user sees the text that they added in step #1, then everything is okay. If they do not see the text, then there is another instance open that is overriding the body content. The other instance will need to be closed before the user will be able to save their document in the Academic Writer platform.
