How do I cite a journal article with no DOI?

Answer

If the article was retrieved from an academic database such as Ebscohost, format the reference as the print version of the source.

 

Reference Citation Pattern

Last name, First/Middle Initial(s). (Year). Title of article. Name of the Periodical, volume(issue), page numbers #-#. 

 

Example

Gill, C. S., Barrio Minton, C. A., & Myers, J. E. (2010). Spirituality and religiosity: Factors affecting wellness among low-income, rural women. Journal of Counseling & Development, 88, 293–302.
