How do I create video segments of videos found in the Library databases?

You can create custom video segments in the following Library databases: Academic Video Online: Premium (Alexander Street Press), Films on Demand, and SAGE Video. Tutorials and instructions for each database are provided below.

Academic Video Online

Make a video clip with a single click. Drag the red and green time flags to set the start and end points of your clip, or use the time stamp tool to mark where you want your clip to start and end.

SAGE Videos

Click the Create Clip button located below the video. You will be prompted to Sign In. If you have not created an optional and free account yet, do so now by proceeding to register. Once you have created an account, you can sign in and create clips.

In creating a clip you can define:

  • Start point
  • End point
  • Description for clip-viewers

Use the scrub bar to pick the start and end of each clip.

  • This will be reflected in the start and end time
  • Once a clip is created, you will be able to edit it from the clip page

A clip has a unique URL that can be shared with anyone.
