What is the benefit of searching individual databases when most content is available through NavigatorSearch (formerly Roadrunner)?

Additional Search Options and Filters. Individual databases typically offer more search limiters, allowing you to easily narrow your search to specific types of documents (e.g., case studies, tests, & measurements, dissertations, financial reports, etc.). These documents may be difficult or impossible to retrieve using NavigatorSearch (formerly Roadrunner).

Subject-Specific Content. Additionally, individual databases often provide content focused on a particular subject area. This can be a quick way to weed out articles unrelated to your discipline.

Personalization Features. Individual databases may offer personalized features when you create a personal account. Setting up personal accounts is free and optional. Please see our Database Alerts & Personal Accounts page for instructions on creating a personal account.

To view a demonstration of database features within your academic discipline, we recommend attending one of our subject-specific research webinars.
