How can I search for dissertations by subject?

To access dissertations, go to the Library's home page and click on Research Resources - Find Dissertations. To see dissertations from other students at National University and formerly Northcentral University, select ProQuest Dissertations & Theses @ National University. ProQuest Dissertations & Theses Global provides access to over 3 million full-text dissertations from hundreds of different universities.

Click on the Advanced Search and scroll down to the “More search options” area. Click on “Look up subjects” next to the Subject heading search box.

ProQuest Dissertations & Theses Advanced Search screen with the "Look up Subjects" link highlighted.

A pop-up window will appear. Type your term into the search box and click “Find” to execute the subject search. Next, check mark the box next to the appropriate subject term and click “Add to search”.

The subject term will auto-populate into the Subject heading field. You may now click the search button at the top or very bottom of the page to complete your subject search.
