How do I search for a dissertation by author?

To search for dissertations by degree, go to the Library's Find Dissertations page, located under Research Resources on the blue menu bar.

On this page, you may choose to select the ProQuest Dissertations & Theses @ Northcentral University link to search only NCU/NU dissertations. Or you may choose the ProQuest Dissertations and Theses link to search more than 1.7 million dissertations from universities around the globe.

By clicking either link, you should be taken to the Advanced Search page (if you are not able to do so, then click Advanced Search to reach that screen).

From the Advanced Search page, type the degree in the search box and select the Author field code from the drop-down menu to the right of the search boxes.

Alternatively, for a more precise search, select Author Look Up from under More Search Options:

Search for the author's name, select by checking the box next to the author's name, then add to your search:

Author search box with "Smith, A." typed in as an example.
