An interlibrary loan (ILL) request may be canceled for the following reasons:

• The item is available through the Library;
• The item cannot be obtained through Interlibrary Loan (such as a conference proceeding or a dissertation);
• The book chapter, journal article, or conference proceeding may not be obtainable through any source available;
• The item cost exceeds the Library's budgeted expense for copies;
• The requested item exceeds copyright limitations for resource borrowing.

For items unavailable through the Interlibrary Loan service, the following is suggested:

• Compare WorldCat holdings to see if a library near you owns the journal, book, or resource;

• Visit the Library Alternatives LibGuide page to find a local state, public, or academic library.

• Check Open Access Resources.
