I'm getting the following error message when trying to export references from NavigatorSearch: "Import failed. Oops, we encountered some technical issues. Please try again later." What should I do?
Unfortunately, if you receive this message, it means that EBSCO is having an issue with their direct export to RefWorks feature. We apologize for the inconvenience and are working with the vendor to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.
To save references as RIS citation files from NavigatorSearch and EBSCOHost Databases, follow these steps:
- Conduct a search in NavigatorSearch or any EBSCOHost database. On the search results screen, click on the article title that you wish to export.
- This will bring you to the Detailed Record for that resource. Under Tools, select Export.
- Look for the three stacked dots and/or the citation icon.
- Select the Export citation tab and locate the Export in RIS format.
- A .ris file containing the bibliographic information will be downloaded. Save the file somewhere that you will remember on your computer.
- Login to ProQuest RefWorks at http://refworks.proquest.com/
- In the top navigation, click +Add and select Import References.
- Select the .ris file from your saved folder and upload it to RefWorks. Select RIS Format as the file type. Click Import.
- Your reference should automatically appear in the Last Imported folder.
In the meantime, please follow the instructions below to manually save and export records from Navigator Search or EBSCOhost databases.
