Why am I receiving a "Forbidden" message when trying to access a library resource?

If you are receiving the below Forbidden error message when attempting to access a library resource, then it means that you may be trying to access a Library area that is only accessible to specific library users. For example, students in the JFK School of Law have access to specific legal databases, and alumni users have varied library access from currently enrolled students.

Additionally, your student status must be categorized as Active to have full access to the Library's subscription databasesInactive or Pending Grad status may result in the Forbidden error message.

You may contact the Library to verify student status. However, the Library is unable to change your status with the University. You must contact your Academic Advisor and/or the Registrar's Office to resolve the status issue. You may reach the registrar at 888-327-2877 x8081 or by email at Registrar@ncu.edu.

If you believe you received this message in error, please contact the Library directly during live help hours.
