How do I find articles by discipline or profession?

To find articles published in a discipline-specific journal, you have two options:

Use Discipline-Specific Databases

  • Note that some of our library databases are multidisciplinary, meaning they include articles from multiple disciplines.
    • These include NavigatorSearch, Academic Search Complete, ProQuest Central, Sage Journals, and more.
  • On the other hand, some of our databases are subject-specific, meaning they only include articles from a specific discipline(s).
    • These include SocINDEX, APA PsycInfo, ProQuest Health and Medical Collection, and more.
  • Use our library A-Z Database list or research guides to find recommended discipline-specific databases.

Unsure if a database is discipline-specific or multidisciplinary? Ask a librarian!
