Failed Course – Will I have to return benefits payments to VA if I fail a course?
Answer
If a student completes a course and earns a failing grade, VA will not require the return of benefit payments for that course. However, if the failing grade is the result of a withdrawal or a period of non-attendance leading to dismissal, then VA will require the repayment of benefits for the affected course, based on the student’s last day of attendance.
